Karkala : Trivial clash results in communal tension in Sacharipete; 4 arrested

Karkala, July 30, 2014:  Communal tension has flared up in Sacharipete following a clash that ensued after an attempt to  run over an autorickshaw driver by a car  on July 29, Tuesday evening.  The incident even led to lathi charge and arrest of four persons. Police have stepped up security in the area following the incident.

 

The incident was in the aftermath of a recent  incident wherein a youth named Anwar who was riding a bike intercepted an autorickshaw and abused the driver. The same youth  is said to be responsible for Tuesday’s incident. An agitated autorickshaw driver Dinesh questioned Anwar resulting  in the clash.

Udupi DySP Annamalai led team of Karkala police which rushed to the spot resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd.There is information that four persons have been arrested.
