Karkala, Jan 13, 2017: An illegal abattoir was raided by the police near Tellar Bangwady on January 12, Thursday and huge quantity of beef was seized. Animal bones were also found in abundance in the place. The accused however managed to flee. The raid followed a tip off from Bajrangdal activists.
Sources said over a quintal of beef and a weighing scale has been found.
Meanwhile, sources also revealed that there have been allegations that some shops were engaged in selling mutton mixed with beef to unaware customers.
