It has been gathered that the driver of the vehicle who spotted the cops led by Hebri  inspector Seetaram P waiting for the vehicle following a tip off,  lost control over the truck resulting in the mishap.

Six cows valued at Rs 25,000 and the vehicle worth Rs 4 lakh have been seized. The cattle smugglers however managed to escape.

The rising cases of cattle thefts in the area has been a cause of great concern with some even complaining that street lights are switched off during a particular  time  in order to help the cattle thieves carry out their illegal act.
