Kanyana murder case : Auto driver arrested for helping accused flee

Bantwal, Sep 3, 2015 : Vittal police who are investigating into the recent case of gang attack in Kanyana market area wherein a youth was brutally killed and two others sustained critical injuries, have arrested an autorickshaw driver on September 2, Wednesday.

He has been accused of abetting the crime, by assisting the accused to escape. He has been produced before the court.

Kanyana murder case : Auto driver arrested for helping accused flee The arrested person is Iqbal alias Ikku (24) from Poyyagadde in Kanyana. Sources said the killers had threatened the driver by brandishing weapons and demanded that they be taken away from the crime scene.

According to the police, the arrested person Iqbal was once earlier behind bars on the charges of abducting and raping a minor girl.

He was later released on bail, police sources said.

A gang had killed a youth named Asif and had injured Hakim and Riyaz in the Kanyanga gang attack near the local market.

It is believed that the notorious Nappate Rafiq gang was behind the attack.

It the auto driver is really involve din the case, then he deserves but what if they had threatened showing some weapons?
