Moodbidri, Dec 02, 2015: Senior Kambala scholar and judge Gunapal Kadamba has expressed optimism that the traditional Tulunadu sport of Kambala would be freed of ’cruelty to animals’ charges and would be allowed to be conducted along with some pre-conditions.
Last year, experts from different veterinary universities across the nation had arrived to witness the Kambala in the backdrop of the complaints and had submitted its report to the government, Kadamba said. He further added that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been apprised of the facts and exuded confidence that a favourable order would be out within a week.
Gunapal Kadamba has also stated that Union Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda has assured to bring to the notice of the government the fact that the allegations against Kambala by some organisation were baseless.
