Mangaluru, Sep 03, 2020:   Kalkura Prathishtana will organise online national children festival — Shree Krishna Vesha competition, on the day of Krishnashtami, on September 10.

The competition will be held online due to Covid-19 scare, Kalkura Prathishtana president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura informed mediapersons on Wednesday. Normally, the competition was held at Kadri Temple all these years.

The competition will be held in 30 categories for children. Participants should send their three-minute video to the email of the respective categories.

The competitions are Thottila Krishna (Krishna in cradle), ‘Kanda Krishna’ (for tiny tots below one year), ‘Muddukrishna’ (for toddlers under two); Thuntakrishna (for the toddlers of two years to three years); ‘Balakrishna’ (for kids from kindergarten and LKG), Vriksha Krishna (planting a plant with Krishna costume), ‘Kishora Krishna’ (for children from UKG and I std); ‘Sri Krishna’ (for II, III and IV standard children); Geetha Krishna (for students upto VII std, here one has to create Geethopadesha situation with costumes); Shankanada (with traditional costume for kids upto seventh standard); ‘Shankhaudgosha’ (for above seventh std and open to all); Radha Krishna (students up to seventh standard can participate in pair); ‘Radha Madhava’ (above class 7 students in pair); ‘Devaki Krishna’ (woman as Devaki and child as Krishna can take part); ‘Yashoda Krishna’ (woman as Yashoda any child as Krishna can participate with action); ‘Nanda Gokula’ (episode presentation of Lord Krishna’s life by a group i.e entire family members with minimum five members); Vasudeva Krishna (Male in traditional costume as Vasudeva and kid as Krishna can act. Use of plastic baskets are not allowed. Even woman can also enact as Vasudeva in men’s costume); ‘Yaksha Krishna’ (with Thenku or Badaguthittu Yakshagana costume, any student up to tenth standard can participate); ‘Sri Krishna Gana Vaibhava’ (singing contest in four categories viz -- Shishu, Nala, Kishora and open to all); Krishna still photography (Krishna with attractive posture), Achuta quiz competition (upto class 7), Madhava quiz competition (above class seven), Sri Krishna Rangoli (open to all).

Drawing competition

In addition, Srikrishna Varna Vaibhava drawing competition will be organised.  Students from class 1 to 3 can draw Sri Krishna using crayons, sketch pens. While students of class 4 and 5 should draw using crayons, colour pencils and water colours. Students of class 6 to 8 can draw Gopala Krishna using water colours.

Water, poster colours


The students of class 9 and 10 have to draw Kalinga Mardana Krishna using water colours or poster colours. There is an open category on the topic Govardhana Giridhara Krishna in water colours. The drawing should be on 8 X 11 size drawing paper and should be sent to John Chandran, Sri Krishna Vibhaga, Kalkura Prathishtana, Sri Krishna complex, Kodialbail, Mangaluru.

Special prizes will be given to Krishna Vesha winners and participant child will be honoured with Udupi Kadagolu Krishna made of panchaloha and certificate.
