KSRTC operates long route buses from Tuesday

Mangaluru, May 20, 2020:  KSRTC began bus services to taluk headquarters and long routes, like Bengaluru, Mysuru, Shivamogga, Hubballi and other cities on Tuesday.

 

 

 

 

 

Mangaluru KSRTC divisional controller S N Arun told DH that depending on the demand, the buses will be operated with 50% of the capacity.

Steps had been taken to ensure that social distancing norms were adhered to while passengers purchased tickets from the counter.

Around 40 buses operated in the division. The bus that left for Bengaluru had 29 passengers. KSRTC is yet to take a decision on operating ‘Nagarasarige’ buses in the city.

Salon shops open

Though the salons were given permission to open, only a few shops were open.

Savitha Samaja Dakshina Kannada district general secretary Vasanth Bellur said that the Samaja members have decided to open from Wednesday after cleaning the shops on Tuesday.
