KSRTC celebrates 50th Founder’s Day

Mangalore, Aug 1: The Mangalore Depot of KSRTC celebrated its 50th Founder’s Day at KSRTC Bus Depot today. M. R. Vasudev, the managing director of Mangalore Airport, was the chief guest of the event. Stating that there is no real difference between air transport workers and road transport workers, he said that road transport is busier than air transport. Referring to the KSRTC’s Volvo bus service, he said that Volvo buses plying to the airport will benefit the airport in a big way.

Urging the KSRTC not to cancel some of its bus services because they are not bringing in profits, he said that the KSRTC must develop the patience to work regularly since hard work and determination take a company to the pinnacles of success. He also spoke of the importance of developing a rapport with passengers, understanding their problems, and so on.

Mallikarjuna, the regional transport officer (RTO), said that satellite bus stations must be implemented for private as well as government bus service.

C. Yeshwanth Kumar, the in-charge divisional controller, delivered the welcome address and said that Volvo buses are very expensive and running them is of no use if they do not bring in any profits.

KSRTC staff Diwakar read out the KSRTC report, which included its aims and principles.

K. G. Nanjappa, the senior assistant director of factories, and Ram Moorthy, the depot officer, were also present.
