KSP needs change of leadership – writer Mahesh Nayak

Mangalore, April 27, 2012 : Addressing reporters at a press meet held in Press Club on April 27 Friday, Mahesh R. Nayak, the proprietor of Kallachu Publications, urged Kannada speakers to elect Sarvottam Anchan, the entrepreneur, journalist, and previous president of Kannada Sahiya Parishad (KSP) (Mangalore taluk unit) to the post of president of the KSP once again during the elections, which will be held on April 29 Sunday.

 

Citing reasons for his request, he said that the KSP is badly in need of change of leadership and that Mr. Anchan is the right person to bring about positive changes in it. He also complained that Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, who had been the president of the parishad for the past 10 years, has developed a dictatorial attitude, owing to which he has not maintained the parishad records properly and has misappropriated KSP funds.

Mr. Nayak said that Mr. Anchan has taken care of the Mangalore Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishad well for 3 years; moreover, he has taken up responsibilities at Lions Club.

He expressed confidence that the KSP, under the able leadership of Mr. Anchan, can support Kannada projects in government department, educational institutions, and service centres. He further stated that Mr. Anchan will bring about transparency in the administration, particularly in the way the Rajyotsava award winners are selected.
