It has been gathered that the warden has quit following the incident. However he has argued that he has not assaulted any student nor has abused any one.

According to the protestors, Tejas, Manoj, Shreesha and Kasim had returned to the hostel at 11.30 pm on January 14 as they did catering work during spare time to  fund their education. They say the warden did not let them in, but made them sleep on the verandah after abusing and beating  them with wires.

Karunaker Rai, Principal of the Polytechnic maintained that the matter has been settled and as far as the complaint of imposing discipline, he said “ There is pressure from parents to ensure discipline.” He also pointed out that some students return late in the night and also consume alcohol. He  said the hostel has CCTV cameras to keep an eye on the students.
