A group of reporters approached Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and submitted a memorandum, in which they sought immediate action against those responsible for the attacks. The memorandum submitted by the journalists stated that the police must take stern action against those who are attempting to snatch away the freedom of the press.

B. V. Seetharam, the director of Chitra Publications, which publishes Karavali Ale, said that vendors are unwilling to stock copies of Karavali Ale because they are terrified.

The police commissioner has assured that the department will do everything in its power to ease the fears of the vendors of Karavali Ale.
