Sullia, Aug 20, 2018: "On Thursday morning my twin sister Monisha had called me and enquired about my well being. I enquired about other family members. Though she did not say anything about rain havoc, I asked her to be cautious.
She said ok and disconnected the phone saying it has no charge and that she would call later, but I had to see her dead later," 23 year old Mohith is teary eyed as he says so. His father Basappa, mother Gauramma, sister Monisha and cousin Manjula have fallen victim during the massive land slip at Jodupala near Sampaje where their house is located.
With no place to stay, Mohith is presently with his uncle at his accommodation at Sullia. He says he is left with no courage to visit the place where his house was located. As his father and sister Monisha’s bodies have been traced, they were cremated at the Kerpala crematorium at Sullia on Sunday. The bodies of his mother and another sister are yet to be traced. Mohith is an employee with Selco solar company at its Tiptur branch.
Mohith’s deceased sister Monisha (23) has done her MCA in Mysuru and had returned home some time back after completion of her internship in Bengaluru. Her body was traced on Saturday in a drain a little away from their home.
Mohith’s mother Gauramma was an Asha worker while father Basappa is a Group D worker at Sullia Government Hospital. Manjula who is also missing was enrolled to the Madenadu High School at Jodupala three months ago. She was the niece of Gauramma.
