Jacobite students’ organization MGJSM launched in Mangalore

Mangalore, July 18, 2011: Dr. Kuriakose Mor Theophilose, the president of the MGJSM Mangalore, inaugurated the Mor Gregorios Jacobite Students’ Movement (MGJSM) Mangalore, at a special programme held at St. Anthony’s Jacobite Syrian Cathedral in Jeppu on July 17 Sunday.

In his inaugural address, he said that the youth are required to grow stronger spiritually by imbibing Christian values to spread the message of universal brotherhood and lead fruitful lives.

Fr. Sunny John, the spiritual advisor and vicar of St. Anthony’s Jacobite Syrian Cathedral, presided over the event.

Fr. Mathai Kattumanagttu, MGJSM General Secretary Fr. Anil, advocate A. C. Jayaraj, Secretary E. P. Isaac, and Trustee C. Cherian were the guests of the honor.

MGJSM is a spiritual organization for students under the patronage of Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas First Catholicose, the bishop of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Association. The president of the organization is Mor Theophilose Kuriakose Metropolitan. The objective of the organization is work for the spiritual, cultural, social, mental, and educational development of students.

The aims of the organization are to provide spiritual insight, enhance awareness among students, develop leadership skills, imbibe Christian values, equip students to face the challenges of the modern world, help students strengthen their faith in God, uphold ethical and moral values, provide guidance to overcome hurdles and difficulties of campus life, foster universal brotherhood, and promote talents.
