JK Cement Confers Architect of the Year Award on Sanjay Puri

Mangalore, Nov 28: JK Cement Ltd’s 19th Architect of the Year Award went to Sanjay Puri from Mumbai for his project "Triose" in Lonawala, Mumbai.
The names of the winners were announced at a Winner Declaration Ceremony held at the TMA Pai International Convention Hall in Mangalore on Nov 27, Friday.

Commendation awards such as Private Residence Award was  conferred on Girish Dariyavava Kranavat of Mangalore for Aqua House. The Public Building Award went to Kiran Venkatesh of Bangalore from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore. P Krishna Raj of Bangalore bagged the Award for Excellence in Use of Construction Material  for Halikanu Mane in Bangalore. The award for Educational Campuses went to Christopher Charles Benninger for Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies, Lonavala. 

The Young Architect Award winner was  Smaran Mallesh, a Bangalore-based architect for his project Out of the Box. The State Architect of the Year Award was conferred on Kishore N Trivedi of Rajkot; the State Commendation Award went to Uday Andhare of Ahmedabad, while the  State Young Architect Award was conferred on Deepak Guggari of Pune. 

In the Focus Country Award categories, the Focus Countries Architect of the Year Award was conferred on Alister Macbeth of Mauritius. The Focus Countries Commendation Award went to Palinda Kannangara of Srilanka, and the Focus Countries Young Architect Award to Peshali Mandara Perera of Srilanka. 

Krishna Rao Jaisim, an eminent Bangalore-based architect and member of the jury, announced the list of winners in different categories of the 19th AYA, while giving details of the prize-winning projects.
