Addressing press persons in Mangalore on March 4, Monday, Aslam said  it does not befit a leader like Poojari to resort to such means against the JD(S) which has fielded the highest number of  candidates(48) for the first time in the MCC elections, with the ultimate objective of securing a majority and working for the overall development of the city.

Aslam alleged that Poojari during his poll campaigning,  particularly in minorities dominated area, had been requesting voters not to vote for the JD(S) as it would only be giving a chance for the BJP to win.

He reiterated that the JD(S) has fielded able and efficient candidates  for the Mangalore City Corporation elections and alleged that  the Congress was worried over the pro-JD(S) wave among minority voters.

He alleged that the Congress leaders had resorted to such malicious propaganda even in Kudroli and Suratkal area and pointed out that the lone JD(S) corporator from Kudroli area had done good works during his tenure. Aslam accused the Congress and the BJP of cheating the voters by giving false assurances.

He also appealed to the voters to give JD(S) an opportunity to provide a good administration to the MCC.

Iqbal Ahmed, Vice President of the State JD(S) Minorities Wing, Susheel Noronha, Azeez Kudroli and other party leaders were present.
