The talks are in final stages and we will come to a definite understanding within two weeks, Mr Gowda said here on Sunday, March 3.

Speaking to reporters here, he said JDS  will not press the Congress for 12 seats out of 28 seats in Karnataka,  in view of coalition government was governing without any problem.  ‘’Being the JD(S) head, I will not give a chance for the coalition government in Karnataka to face any danger,” he said referring to the seat sharing formula for the general election which remains to be resolved between the two parties.

Stating that JD (S) was not rigid on getting its share, Mr Gowda said he hoped that the Congress will also be not insistent on  sparing some of the seats to its coalition partner. This comes in the wake of JD(S) seeking Mandya and Mysuru seats besides Tumakuru and other Lok Sabha seats.

Mr Gowda said the Coordination Committee of the two parties will meet on March 4 and discuss about seat sharing which will be finalised later at the high command level. The intention of the two parties is to curtail the growth of the BJP in the elections.
