JD (S) appoints Ashwin Pereira as state youth JD (S) secretary

Mangalore, Aug 28, 2012: The JD(S) has appointed Ashwin Pereira as the state secretary of its youth unit.

Making the above announcement at a press conference held at Hotel Woodlands on August 28, Tuesday, M. B. Sadashiva, district president of the JD(S), said that Ashwin Pereira is an engineering graduate employed as the MD of iCare Lift Pvt. Ltd. and iCare Live Media Pvt. Ltd.

He also announced that the JD(S) will support a protest against the home stay attack organized by the Students’ Union on September 1 and will hold a fishermen’s convention and an induction ceremony in the office of the district JD(S) on September 2. The JD(S), in collaboration with the Karavali Souharda Sangharsha Samithi will organize a massive protest against moral policing in front of the DC’s office on September 4.

Amarnath Shetty, state JD(S) vice president, announced that the JD(S) will organize a mega convention in Town Hall to condemn acts of moral policing and attacks on young women in the district. District and state JD(S) leaders, including Madhu Bangarappa and H. D. Kumaraswamy, will also take part in the convention.

JD(S) leaders Sushil Noronha, Vasanth Poojary, and DM Aslam were also present.
