J. R. Lobo addresses reporters after joining Congress

Mangalore, July 28, 2012: Addressing reporters at a press meet after being formally inducted into the Congress Party at a special program held at the district Congress office on July 28, Saturday, J. R. Lobo said that party leaders can do their work only with the wholehearted support of party workers. 

Revealing his reasons for joining the Congress, he said that he was impressed with the work the party does for the needy and the underprivileged and stated that he did not receive any offer from any party. 

Stating that he is happy being a Congress worker, although he had not taken any political affiliation in the past being Government servant. He said that he will work as a party worker and serve the people as he used to in administrative service.

Clarifying that he did not join the Congress for any position, he said that he only intends to work hard and prove his worth. 

                 

 

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Ramanath Rai said that the physical fight at the formal program was just a minor issue, adding that party workers are united and ready for the upcoming elections. 

Regarding J. R. Lobo’s entry into the party, he said that Mr. Lobo was once a Congressman for a long back, but has decided to work as a party worker after sacrificing his government job.

Mayor Gulzar Banu, Shashidhar Hegde, and Ivan D’Souza were present at the press meet.
