Ivan blames BJP for delay in MCC polls

Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2019: MLC Ivan D’Souza has blamed the BJP for the inordinate delay in conducting the MCC elections though as per rules the local body polls have to be held prior to the completion of the tenure of the previous rule.

Speaking  to reporters here on October 27, Sunday, he said  the BJP had questioned the reservation just because it was unsuitable for the party.

He claimed that the Congress rule in the MCC in the past five years was free from any black spots. He also enlisted the various  works  undertaken.

He said the party  has received over 250 applications for tickets in 60 wards and that the process of selection of candidates was underway. Apart from door-to-door visits,  corner meetings would also be organised, he said.

He also accused the BJP of misleading the people through false information regarding  the Thumbay new vented dam and said he was ready for a debate on the issue.
