Mangaluru: July 5, 2015: From today, the Falnir road would be officially called as ’Mother Teresa Road. Though the state government had nodded to rename the road few years ago, the name was not officially adopted.
On Sunday, the parish community of Milagres installed a "Mother Teresa Road’ signboard at Kankanady junction pointing to Falnir Road.
The new signboard was unveiled by Superior of Mother Teresa convent Sr Benadette on July 5 Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, MCC Mayor Jacintha Alfred said, Mother Terresa has lived for poor, her works has inspired the world. She spent her life helping others. She helped poor and destitute and she will always be remembered for her loving deeds. To make people remember about her work we have renamed this road as ’Mother Teresa Road’.
Sr. Bernadette thanked Mayor Jacintha and State Government for their support.
