Mangaluru May 24, 2016: Recently Kavoor Police detained Iqbal under Goonda Act and was brutally beaten until red on May 20.Addressing to the press at Hotel Woodlands today Monday May 23, Iqbal’s family blamed Kavoor Police and Police Commissioner M Chandrashekar for detaining Iqbal for no reason.

Iqbal brother K Ahmed said that, Kavoor Police detained Iqbal and registered a case against him for assaulting youth in Kulur and later he went back to Kavoor Police station with a anticipatory bail but SI Natraj beaten up and relinquished Iqbal to CCB police and was beaten up yet again in the lock up.

Iqbal was admitted to Highland hospital for further treatment and filed a complaint against concerned police officers. Retaliate to this complaint On May 20th Kavoor Police station  SI Umesh raided Iqbal’s residence and dragged Iqbal in to police station in which Iqbal’s Wife Zohra and his son sustained minor injuries.

Later Iqbal’s family visited Kavoor Police Station to seek Iqbal’s presence but Police said that they were unaware, but after two days Iqbal’s family came to know through a newspaper that he was charged under Goonda Act. It was a retaliate by the police to deliver their anger on Iqbal. He was innocent and was a carpenter by profession.

Mangaluru Police failed to detain real culprits and in the name of questioning they detain innocent persons like Iqbal and taken to custody. Iqbal’s family demanded strict action against the police .

Iqbal’s wife Zohra and his brother in Law Mohammed were present.
