Infosys organizes district level painting contest for school kids

Mangalore, Sep 11: Infosys Limited and DK District Council for Child Welfare organized a district-level painting contest for school kids in Kottara on Saturday. 


The winning paintings will be entered into the National Painting Competition to be organized by the Indian Council for Child Welfare. The winners of the National Painting Competition will receive monthly or annual scholarships till the winner turns 18 years of age or completes Class XII, whichever comes first. However, scholarships will be given to only those students whose family income is Rs. 5,000 or less per month.

A total of 120 children between the ages of 5 and 18 from around 80 schools participated in this competition.


Shivani Acharya of St. Aloysius UPS, Nidisha Kava of BGS Education Centre, and Varsha H. of Government Upper Primary School Kuthkunja, won the first, second, and third prizes, respectively in the Green Category for kids aged 5 – 8. 


Kedar Prabhu of SDM English Medium High School, Laxmiprasad Achar of Government Upper Primary School Bannuru, and Anvesha Jain of DJEM Upper Primary School Moodabidri won the first, second, and third prizes, respectively in the White Category for kids aged 9 – 12. 


Vaibhav Shenoy of Canara Composite High School, Manishma Manoj of Infant Jesus Joyland High School Bolar, and Shubham Varnekar of St. Aloysius High School Kodialbail won the first, second, and third place, respectively in the Blue Category for kids aged 13 – 16.
Ramesh of Mangala Jyothi Integrated School, Abhishek of Mangala Jyothi Integrated School, and Mohammed Asif of Christ Raj Navachetan Special School won the first, second, and third prize, respectively in the Red Category for kids aged 11 – 18. 


Joyus Periera of St. Agnes Special School, Harsha of Chetana Special School, and Sushanth of Christ Raj Navachethana Special School won the first, second, and third prize, respectively in the Yellow Category for kids aged 5 – 10. 


The first, second, and third prize winners of each category received cash prizes of Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000, and Rs. 2000, respectively.
