Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, September 10, 2020: Infosys Mangaluru Development Center (DC) celebrated its silver jubilee recently to commemorate 25 years of operations in Mangalore. Infosys Mangaluru DC was the first Development Centre that Infosys established outside the headquarters in Bengaluru. Established in 1995 with a few employees operating from a rented single floor office, the campus in Mudipu is now 360 acres, equipped with the latest world-class facilities to execute software projects for clients worldwide.

The DC is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities for employees, which include two food courts, an open amphitheater with an advanced sound system, football and cricket fields of international standards, a sports complex for indoor games that includes volleyball courts, a badminton court, a basketball court, and a swimming pool among other facilities.

Committed to environment conservation, Infosys converted a barren land to a green campus. The DC has a biodiversity hotspot, an arboretum, a bamboo setum, a palm grove and six rainwater collection lakes among other green initiatives. With rich flora, fauna and avifauna, the campus has transformed into a pristine tropical rain forest.

As a socially responsible organization, Infosys Mangaluru DC has worked closely with its employees for upliftment of surrounding communities by transforming the way they learn and live.  Prerana, the charitable arm of Infosys Mangaluru DC, has significantly aided underprivileged children in the region, over the years, by offering scholarships, notebook and clothes distribution drives, and blood donation camps. To celebrate this milestone with local community, Infosys Mangaluru DC’s employees helped in making a new Anganwadi center in Bagambhila village and a classroom to conduct English classes for the government primary school in Nadupadavu village.

Prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of employees, the entire celebration was organized virtually with a host of fun activities arranged for employees and their families. These included virtual hackathons, quizzes, leader talks, and a Petit Infoscion creative writing contest. Infosys hosted a grand virtual finale on 8 September on Infosys’ own Live Enterprise virtual collaboration platform, said a release.
