Mangaluru, Jan 06, 2021: An informative workshop on the Mangaluru City Corporation’s ambitious 24x7 water supply project-Jalasiri ended inconclusively with the authorities not giving a satisfactory reply to the various queries posed by members.
The workshop was held under the presidentship of Mayor Diwaker Pandeshwar with the co-operation of KUDCEMP and the Suez India which has been awarded contract for the project.
Mahanthesh, officer of Suez India gave information regarding the project which is being implemented keeping in mind the water needs of Mangaluru upto 2046. He said the Rs792.42 crores project would be taken up with ADB aid and will involve construction of water reservoirs and additional boosting pump houses.
However the officials failed to give satisfactory replies to most of the queries and doubts raised by members and many began to exit the venue.
Deputy Mayor Vedavathi, Chief Whip Premananda Shetty, Opposition leader Abdul Ravoof, MCC Commissioner Akshy Shridhar and others were present.
