Indoor Sports Complex inaugurated at NitteDU Medical Sciences Complex in Deralakatte

Mangaluru, Feb 29, 2020: Vishal Hegde, Pro Chancellor, NITTE (Deemed to be University) inaugurated the newly built indoor sports complex at NitteDU Medical Sciences Complex in Deralakatte on 24th February 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, he said ’staying fit both physically and psychologically for today’s healthcare professionals is a big challenge due to busy work schedules. Nevertheless, one must devote some time daily for exercise and sports to stay fit.  This provides relief from work pressure and helps deliver better patient care’.

Dr. P S Prakash, Dean KSHEMA, Dr. U S Krishna Nayak, Dean, ABShetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Dr. P Jayaprakash Shetty, Vice Dean, KSHEMA and Dr. C S Shastry, Principal NitteGulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences were present on the occasion.

Prof. (Dr) Fatima Dsilva, Principal NitteUsha Institute of Nursing Sciences welcomed the gathering. Dr. Murali Krishna Sports Advisor NitteDU proposed the vote of thanks.

Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences organized the 8th Nitte Kreedothsava Tournament at the new Indoor Sports Complex on 24th and 25th, February 2020. Students and faculty from Mangalore, Nitte and Bangalore campuses actively participated in various events like Volleyball, Throw ball, Basketball.

The winners of various sports event were honored by Air Commodore S K Pai (Retd), on the occasion of the closing ceremony held on 25th February 2020.
