Mangaluru, Jan 11, 2017 : The stretch of road from the Mahadwara at Mallikatta Circle upto the Kadri Sri Manjunatheshwara Temple which has been concretised at a cost of around Rs 3.20 lakhs will be inaugurated on January 14 at 10 am by State minister for Forests and DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai.
Informing this to reporters here on January 11, Wednesday, local corporator Ashok Kumar DK said former union minister and MP Veerappa Moily will participate as a chief guest, while Mayor Harinath will preside over the function.
Several dignitaries including JR Lobo, MLA, Suresh Ballal, MUDA Chairman, Sri Nirmalanatha Swamiji of Kadri Yogishwar Mutt, AJ Shetty, former managing trustee of Kadri Temple will grace the occasion, informed Ashok Kumar.
He also stated that the side drains and foot path works on either side of this new concretised road will be continued after the Kadri Temple’s annual fair. He said water supply pipes on the main road as well as the five adjacent link roads have been newly laid at a cost of Rs 80 lakhs while under ground drainage pipes have also been laid by spending Rs 61 lakhs. A sum of Rs 51.50 lakh has been spent towards development of interior roads in the area, he added.
The MESCOM will also be laying underground power cables at a cost of Rs 2 crores and the work would commence after the Kadri Temple fair, he informed.
