Ill-health drives young housewife to suicide along with 2 kids

Mangaluru, Feb 11, 2019: In a tragic incident reported from Mathibettu in Chatkal Pade near Muniyal in Hebri, a young housewife has ended her life after poisoning her two  little daughters.

The deceased are Deepa (25), wife of Santosh from Mathibettu near Hebri Muniyalu and  her children Shreya (9) and Priya(6). Santosh used to run a poultry farm belonging to the family which hailed from Shivamogga.


Sources revealed that  health complications had driven Deepa to the extreme step. It is believed that she fed food laced with poison to her daughters on the night of February 9 and later consumed the poison.  When the three fell ill they were rushed to the hospital but their lives could not  be saved.

The children were studying in Amritha Bharati Vidyalaya in third student and LKG respectively.

The bodies have been taken to Shivamogga for the last rites.
