IGP orders police to open fire at trouble creators

Bantwal, July 9, 2017:  It has been reliably gathered that IGP (Western Range) Harishekharan has  ordered the police to open fire against anyone who attempts to attack the cops or ties to escape inspection.

Sources said the IGP issued the order at a meeting held on July 8, Saturday after stone pelting incidents  were reported during the funeral procession of the slain RSS activist  Sharath Madivala. There was also a heated exchange of words between some people and the police on the occasion.

As many as 26 checkposts have been set up from Farangipete to Kalladka and Vittal. Vehicles will be inspected if police find anything suspicious.

Meanwhile, as many as 20 persons have been arrested in connection with Saturday’s stone pelting cases.
