Home Minister promises 33 % quota for women in future recruitments of Police Dept

Sullia, Sep 8, 2015:  State Home Minister KJ George has informed that the process of recruitment of 8500 personnel to the Police Department is almost complete.

Speaking after inaugurating the new building of the Sullia Police Station on September 7, Monday, he said 33 per cent  reservation will be provided to women candidates in future recruitments of Police Department.  He also stated that  rules  pertaining to  height and weight would be relaxed for tribal youth .

State Forest Minister B Ramanatha Rai  who was the chief guest, spoke on the role played by the Police Department in maintaining law and order. Referring to moral policing incidents in the district, the Minister said there was no question of tolerating the same.

S Angara, local MLA presided over the function. He said a longstanding demand of the people of the taluk has been fulfilled with the inaugural of the new police station building.

Divyaprabha Chiltadka, President of State Social Welfare Board, Asha Timmappa,  ZP Chief, NA Ramachandra, Town Panchayat President, Jayaprakash Kuntadka, TP Chief,  Sharanappa, SP, Vincent Shanthakumar, ASP,  BS Satish, Sullia Circle Inspector, Chandrashekhar, Inspector, Sanjay Kallura, Crime SI and others were present.
