Hindu activists take out protest rally against attack on Datta Peetha pilgrims

Mangaluru, Dec 08, 2014:  A protest rally has begun at Vamanjoor in the outskirts of the city on December 8, Monday  under the aegis of the Hindu organisations like VHP and Bhajrangdal   to condemn the December 5 incident of attack on Datta Peetha Pilgrims at Ulaibettu.

 

It has been learnt that some protestors tried to enter Ulaibettu where ban orders under Section 144 has been clamped. However when police barred entry,  some protestors even resorted to stone pelting.

The rally  will conclude at Parari junction where a protest meet would be held. Several leaders including Prasad Attavar of Sri Rama Sene, Satyajit Suratkal of Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Jagadish Shenava of VHP and others are taking part in the protest.

Hundreds including a large number of women are taking part in the rally.
