Mr. Soorinje had leveled the above allegations through the Kasturi TV show Satyameva Jayate.

Stating that Mohan Padil has been active in social and religious activities for the past 23 years, he said that the people of Padil elected him as their corporator because of his ability to handle responsibilities. Besides, Mohan Padil is a devotee of Ayyappa and goes to the Ayyappa Swamy Sannidhi every year, he added.

Stating that the corporator received news of the raid when he was on his way to Ayyappa Swamy Temple, Mr. Bhat said that Mohan Padil went to the home stay to find out what was going on as the home stay comes under his area. The police arrested Mohan Padil because he objected to the use of lathis on the crowd gathered outside the home stay, he added.

Mr. Bhat said that Naveen Soorinje had accused the corporator and the police of being drunk at the time of the attack, three days after the incident. Although a few TV channels broadcast the correct news, Kasturi TV channel broadcast the news in a way to tarnish Mohan Padil’s image, he added.

Hindu Yuva Sene leaders Padmanabha Navur, Yashodhara Chowta Ekkur, Mohan Nuji, and Anand Saripalla were also present.
