Mangaluru, Mar 22, 2017 : A hailstorm that rocked Hirebandadi village in Uppinangady on March 21, Tuesday evening has resulted in widespread damage. The cement sheets of the Shakhepura Milk Union were shattered due to the strong winds, while an electric pole was damaged near Karenki. A transformer was also damaged due to tree fall in Kubala. Several arecanut trees were also damaged.
Several other cases of damage to roof tiles were also reported due to hail storm.
Meanwhile, Subrahmanya, Belthangady and Dharmasthala received good rainfall. It rained even in Ujire, Punjalakatte, Vittal, Maani, Kepu, Punacha and other places.
In Madanthyar, rains were accompanied by thunder and lightning. Puttur , Uppinangady and other places also received good rainfall accompanied by strong winds.
Though it only drizzled in Sullia and Kadaba, the area experienced strong winds.
Meanwhile, strong winds uprooted a huge tree on the Dharmasthala-Kokkada road. In Golithottu bridge a tanker overturned disrupting traffic for some time. The unloaded tanker was heading towards Mangaluru from Bengaluru.

This year at least we get the required amount of rainfall ,but not the harmful winds. The humidity has come down a little. | |

Some time the old trees fall off , the winds are so strong that thay can blow way the strong of the strongest. | |

We can predict but not assume what will happen . It is nature , luckily nobody was harmed. |
