Mangaluru, June 09, 2018: Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds which has been lashing the city since Saturday morning has led to the partial collapse of an old building at Bhavanthi Street. A few two-wheelers which were parked nearby have been damaged after portions of the building fell over the vehicles.
In another case, rains uprooted a huge tree in front of Nehru Maidan resulting in disruption of traffic for some time. The road was later cleared for traffic.
The branch of a tree located near the railway station road, has also landed on the road.
At Suratkal Hosabettu, a huge tree fell on a house causing substantial damage. However no one was injured.
The heavy rains have also resulted in rise in Netravathi water level.
