Mangaluru, Oct 05, 2021: KPCC President D K Shivakumar arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport on Tuesday morning  in order to appear before a court in Sullia for hearing.

Speaking to reporters  at the airport  Shivakumar said he  has arrived with due respect to the orders of the court to appear for hearing.

"A person had called me while I was the energy minister and had abused me. Later the officials had lodged a complaint against him. That person had even abused the officials. I am here to appear before the court in connection with the case," he said.

Referring the Lakhimpur Kheri incident wherein a vehicle reportedly belonging to a union minister’s son had run over protesting farmers killing four,  Shivakumar questioned why the accused was not arrested and the minister has not resigned. "But the police have detained Priyanka Gandhi who was only  going to the place to console the families of the victims," he said.

Congress leaders Ramanatha Rai, Ivan D’Souza, former MLAs J R Lobo, Moidin Bava, DCC Chief Harish Kumar and others were present.
