Hamza Malar’s book Ajji Sakidha Pulli released

Mangalore, Apr 28, 2012: Ajji Sakidha Pulli, a book by Hamza Malar, the journalist and novelist, was released by Harikrishna Punaroor, the former president of the Central Kannada Sahithya Parishad, at Press Club on April 28 Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Punaroor said that the book is to be cherished because it contains charming conversations between a grandmother and her grandson. He also spoke of the need to encourage young Kannada writers.

Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, the former president of the DK Kannada Sahitya Parishad, said that a number of Kannada words are now becoming extinct. The book reminds one of the ancient lifestyle as well as the words and phrases used in the past, he added.

P. B. Harish Rai, the president of the DK Working Journalists’ Union (DKWJU), and B. A. Akbar Ali, the treasurer of Al Wafa Charitable Trust, were also present.
