Mangalore Today

Mangalore, July 29, 2012: The Hindu Janajagarana Vedike (HJV) organized a protest outside the DC’s office on July 29, Sunday, demanding the immediate release of its members, who were arrested for assaulting a group of boys and girls who were partying at Morning Mist Home Stay at Padil in Mangalore.

The protestors said that the police have done great injustice by arresting its members who were only trying to protect Indian culture. They also alleged that the police had beaten up one of its members. Stating that the party going on at Morning Mist Home Stay was against Indian culture, they condemned the police for not taking any action against the revelers.

The district administration has also clamped Section 144 in the city, preventing people from meeting in groups on roads and public places.

Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh told reporters that Morning Mist Home Stay was being run without a license and that the police are investigating the case.
