HC serves notice on Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for inflammatory speech

Puttur, Aug 9, 2012 : A divisional bench of the Karnataka High Court has served a notice on Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, the RSS leader, the home ministry, and the state government in relation to an inflammatory speech delivered by Mr. Bhat against the Muslim community on Jan 22, 2012.


prabhakar 1The Muslim community was outraged over the inflammatory speech delivered by Mr. Bhat on the occasion of the Hindu Samajotsava. Although the police filed an FIR against Mr. Bhat, no action was taken against him for the past 7 months.

Suresh Bhat, president of the Komu Sauharda Vedike, filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the high court, requesting the formation of an enquiry team to investigate the inflammatory speech.

Accordingly, Justice V. J. Sen has served a notice on the home ministry, the state government, and K. Prabhakar Bhat regarding the issue.
