Group clash at Murdeshwar : 3 injured; 1 critical

Bhatkal, Sep 25, 2014 : A clash  that erupted between two groups, both reportedly belonging to the Congress party,  left three persons injured, one of them critically at Murdeshwar on September 24, Wednesday night.

The critically injured person Abdul Jabbar Haji Buran (45) has been rushed to the Manipal Hospital after initial treatment in a local hospital. The other injured are Mohammed Nasir Shaikh (42) and Raju Rama Naik (35).

 According to one of the victims, Nasir, the incident occurred at around 9 pm when he  and four of his friends  including Abdul Jabbar, Pawan Kumar, Dharma Naik and Yaseen  were  coming out of a restaurant after having dinner. He says nearly eight men who came in four bikes
questioned about Kumar who however was not with them. This led to an
altercation and eventually  resulted in a clash.

It is learnt, the clash was a continued part of a fracas the previous night  at the same restaurant between two groups  including Kumar and Zamindar Krishna Naik, the former being an old member and the latter a new member.

 A case has been registered against Raju Rama Naik and eight others in connection with the incident as per a complaint lodged by Dharma Naik. Senior police officials visited the spot and investigations are underway.
