Br. Andrew informed reporters that BJP leader Franklin Monteiro threatened that he would “break his legs” if he continued holding prayer meetings in the hall. He also said that he has lodged a complaint against Mr. Monteiro at the Pandeshwar Police Station.

He also revealed that some devotees were angry because he had fired three of his employees. Stating that he is currently staying in a rented house and is constructing his own house, he said that some devotees are against this.

He also accused Anitha Pinto, one of the devotees, of not returning the Rs. 30,000 she had borrowed from him.

On the other hand, the protesting devotees had a different story to tell. Hazel, one of the devotees, who works in the accounts department of Grace Ministry, said that she left her job in Bangalore and came back to her house in Mangalore. Her family brought her to Grace Ministry and she began visiting regularly because she liked the prayer meetings. Later, Bro. Andrew informed her that he had a vision about her and that she was specially chosen by God to work for the ministry. She decided to devote all her time to the ministry and started working in the accounts department. She was also paid Rs. 2,000 for it.

Further, Hazel said that Brother Andrew is interested only in making money in the name of God. He charges Rs. 500 as membership fees and even requests devotees to donate for events such as Anna Danas or food for the poor.

She said that he fired three employees because he did not want to form any committee to manage the ministry funds.
