Udupi, July 20, 2016: The redeployment of government school teachers, many of them to far off places away from their home town, has angered teachers  who  on July 19, Tuesday expressed their anguish  over the issue with DDPI Diwaker Shetty at the Board High School in the city.

The argument of the affected teachers is that they should consider the existing student strength of teachers while redeployment of teachers.  It has been gathered that as many as 220 teachers had received messages   nearly 15 days ago to attend counseling.

Reacting to the development, the DDPI while defending the move  pointed out that the student strength in government schools have been reducing and this has led to  excess teachers in some schools.

The work load for the teachers in these schools is very less as the number of students in the school is less. The teachers have to be appointed on their convenience to travel and it has to be don during the year end.
