Govt Tool Room and Training Centre proposed in Udupi : Satish Jarakholi

Udupi, Sep 16, 2015 :  State Minister for Small Scale Industries Satish Jarakiholi  has informed that a  Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTCC) aimed at  training  youth  in manufacturing tools and other components required by industries would be established at Uppoor.

 The Minister who spoke to reporters after presiding over a review meeting, said such centres would come up in four places including Udupi and that students who have completed SSLC can join the short term and long term courses offered by these centres.

The Minister also informed  that  entry tax has been exempted for SC/ST candidates and women who are  willing to start small scale industries  and added that tax would be waived for the first three years since the inception of the firm.

 Stating that  the small industries sector  is the second largest employment provider after the farm sector, the Minister said the government would also encourage entrepreneurs to export their products.
