This scheme will be beneficial for poor women suffering from uterus problems, said health minister UT Khader. Endometrial ablation is a medical procedure that is used to remove (ablate) or destroy the endometrial lining of a uterus. This technique is most often employed for people who suffer from excessive or prolonged bleeding during their menstrual cycle but cannot or do not wish to undergo a hysterectomy.

Health minister U T Khader said that a centre was opened at Sir CV Raman General Hospital in Bengaluru to provide free thermal endometrial ablation to needy women.

"Through this procedure, problems in uterus will be cured without surgical intervention. We have plans to extend the facility in all the major government hospitals across the state," Khader said.

" Initially, we will extend the facility in prime hospitals and later it will be introduced in rural hospitals based on the number of cases," the minister said.
