Mangalore, Jan 12: A burglary took place in an apartment in Bunder, Mangalore. 62 sovereigns of gold worth approximately Rs 7 lac, was stolen from a flat on Azizuddin Road, Bunder on Monday January 11.

The burglary took place on Monday night when the residents of the apartment were away for a marriage function. The resident of the apartment is identified as one Haneef Haji, a businessman dealing with coir in Bunder. Haneef and family returned home on Tuesday, January 12 to find the misfortune. The Police said that the burglar has made entry through the kitchen of the flat on the first floor of an apartment and move into the bedroom where the gold was kept. 


Pandeshwar police has registered a case of burglary and the investigation is on.
