Udupi, June 24, 2016: The police arrested an accused from Goa, for his involvement in a case of robbery of gold at Kota.
The arrested was Chandrakanth from Goa. The police received information about the other accused Prathamesh while the third one is absconding. On May 21, three people entered Durga Jewellers, Kota disguised as customers. They then closed the shutters, assaulted the owner and robbed gold jewelry. The owner shouted for help and the neighbouring shop owners opened the shutter. Soon, two of the robbers escaped by a bike while the third left his bike and ran away.
The owner was injured and was rushed to a hospital. It is said that the accused were involved in several thefts in Goa and Karnataka. Chandrakanth was produced before court and was remanded to judicial custody.
