Mangalore crash

The Air India express flight from Dubai to Mangalore crashed at Mangalore Airport on May 22, 2010, killing 158 passengers and crew on board while landing. A single judge of the Kerala High Court had earlier passed an order directing Air India to pay a compensation of 1 lakh Special Drawing Rights(SDR), (Rs. 75 lakh), on a petition filed by the family of another victim. However a division Bench had set aside the single judge’s order on an appeal filed by Air India.
