Mangaluru, July 09, 2016: In an incident that is creating shock waves, a school girl travelling in a school bus died, her head hit an electric pole while she was returning home in the school bus here on Friday July 8, she is reported to have put her head out of the window just for a moment. The incident took place at Sarbathkatte in Yeyyadi.
The girl named is Bhavani (9), daughter of Sudha, a resident of Jyotinagar. Bhavani was a class 4, student of Srinivas Lower Primary School at V T Road. Police sources said that while returning home in the school bus, Bhavani put her head outside the window and hit against an electric pole.
Bhavani died on the spot. Her body was shifted to a private hospital. Windows of a typical school bus is fitted with multiple railings to prevent kids from peeping out. However, police are yet to confirm whether the bus in which the girl, Bhavani, a resident of Jyotinagar, was travelling had such railings. Police gave the name of the bus driver as Ahmed Kunji. Traffic East Police have registered a case and are investigating.
