GP member attacked by masked men at Malpe Port

Malpe, June 07, 2019: A fish seller who is also a Gram Panchayat Member of Farangipete was attacked with lethal weapons by a gang of masked assailants at Malpe Port during the early hours of June 7, Friday.

 

The injured person Riyaz (32) of Farangipete has been  admitted to Manipal  Hospital.  Riyaz had arrived  at the Malpe Port in a fish truck  along with  three others  during the wee hours. He was resting inside the vehicle while others had alighted.

It is suspected that the assailants were following the vehicle from Mangaluru and  attacked Riyaz when others were not around. He has sustained serious injuries in his neck while one of his fingers is also cut off in the attack.

 Malpe Police have registered a case and are conducting the investigation.
