Udupi, 25 July 2010: Fr Stany Tauro took over as the parish priest of Shirva Church after relinquishing his position as the administrator of Father Muller Medical College Hospital on Saturday July 24. On behalf of Mangalore Bishop the Episcopal Vicar of Udupi diocese Dr Baptist Menezes performed the religious rituals. He officiated the handing over ceremony whereby the charge of Our Lady of Health parish, Shirva here was given to newly-appointed priest Fr Stany Tauro from Fr Richard Coelho after the 4.00 pm Holy Mass

The Bible, accounts book and key of the altar were handed over to the new parish priest, Fr Stany Tauro. Speaking on the occasion, Fr Tauro assured that he would strive towards the religious and educational development of Shirva. He further sought the parishioners’ whole-hearted support in the parish. Fr Richard Coelho assumed the charge of administrator at Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, Mangalore on Sunday July 25. Fr Richard thanked the parishioners for their support during his term at the parish.
 

Shirva assistant parish priests Fr Maxim D’Souza and Fr Edwin D’Souza, Father Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues, Nativity Convent superior Sr Hilda Menezes, Shirva parish council vice-president Nobert Machado and secretary Melwyn Aranha among others were present. A large number of parishioners witnessed the occasion.
