Mangalore, Mar 14: Fr. Muller Charitable Institutions’ Graduation and Institution Day was held on March 13, Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Fr. Muller Stadium. The year-long silver jubilee celebration of Fr. Muller College of Nursing was also inaugurated on the same occasion.

 

 

 

 

A procession of graduates in the premises of the medical college marked the beginning of this event, which witnessed around 458 students graduate from the institution. Interestingly, the event also marks the 170th birth anniversary of Fr. Augustus Muller, the founder of Fr. Muller Charitable institutions.

The chief guest of the event was Dr. Veerappa Moily. In his inaugural address, he urged the young doctors to be service minded. He also said that a number of people are unable to afford medical care and said that young doctors and medical professionals should take Mother Theresa as their role model.

Dr. Ramananda Shetty, the vice chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, was the guest of honor. Bishop Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the event. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, the director, delivered the welcome address and presented the annual report. Dr. Shetty presented awards.

The bishop presented mementos to the dignitaries. Fr. Denis D’Sa, the administrator of FMMC and FMCON, delivered the vote of thanks.

A presentation of the FMCON documentary and a colorful cultural programme marked the end of the event.
