Mangalore, Oct 29, 2011: Fr. Muller College of Nursing will organize an international conference (INCON – 2011) on Translation Research: Nurses Making a Difference on Nov 2 – 3 as part of its silver jubilee celebrations.

Details regarding this event were revealed at a press conference held at Press Club on Oct 29 Saturday. The objectives of the conference are to orient nurses to translation research, its scope, and implications in nursing and to equip them to engage in and apply the findings of translation research in daily practice.

The conference targets doctoral scholars, nurse administrators/managers, PG teaching faculty, and research guides. The 2-day event will comprise 9 technical sessions on the main theme.

The speakers will be eminent academicians and researchers from all over India and abroad. The sessions will deal with subjects such as translation research in nursing, multidisciplinary approach, setting benchmarks in research, equipping future scientists, efficacy of metacognitive training to reduce delusions, complementary medicine and ethics in translational research, and many more.

A scientific paper presentation session will be held on both days, and selected papers will be presented by faculty and students of various nursing colleges from all over India. A cultural presentation will also form part of the conference.

Fr. Denis D’Sa, the administrator of FMMC; Sr. Winnifred D’Souza, the principal of FMCON; and Bridget D’Silva, the organizing secretary, were also present at the press conference.
